The story of Ommellinen began with children's clothing, but nowadays the company designs and manufactures clothing for both women and men in its production facilities in Kinkomaa, Central Finland. Ommellinen strives to produce timeless and durable clothing - the foundation of which is already laid in the design and material choices of the garment. All materials used by Ommellinen are manufactured and printed in the European region, and all Ommellinen garments are made entirely in Finland.

Ommellinen selects sustainable, high-quality materials as the cornerstone of its production. Cotton-based materials still represent the most significant single material group in the company's production, and in 2023, 75% of the cotton used by Ommellinen was organic cotton. Ommellinen's fabrics are Öko Tex certified, which means that they are produced without the use of harmful chemicals and the fabric is safe, non-toxic, and suitable even for sensitive skin. Ommellinen has incorporated various fabrics made from recycled fibers into its production, and the merino wool used by the company is mulesing-free.
